Now if you’ve never heard of foam clay it is a malleable putty that can be shaped into anything you’d like. Once it dries it can be sanded, primed and painted as any other high density foam can. It also dries to 1/3 of its original weight which is valuable in cosplay.
How do you make foam clay?
Pour 1/2 cup white glue into a mixing bowl. Add 1 cup liquid starch and 5 teaspoons salt.
Set a timer for 12 minutes.
Remove the mixture from the bowl and kneed with your hands for approximately 5 minutes to remove any excess liquid.
Place the mixture in an airtight container for storage.
Please note: While most foam clays retain some flexibility when dried, they will still crack or break apart if over-stressed.
Does foam clay break easily?
